“I like new things” I am curious about the trendy technology. He became interested in drones that have been attracting attention from an early age. During college, he worked on drone research at the Faculty of Engineering, and participated in drone racing in private. I wanted to move into an industry where I could use that knowledge in the future. However, few companies are working on new technologies only in earnest, so they couldn't find the right place.
Under such circumstances, if I learned that there is a geography teacher who is studying the use of drones as a rescue tool in the event of a disaster, and if I acquire the technology that can be combined with drones, I think it can be used for something.With that in mind, I started looking for companies related to maps that seemed to be compatible with drones.
And we arrived at informatics. A company that provides GIS (Geographic Information System), but also deals with a new field, XR (general term for VR, MR, AR, etc.). Was. In addition, as a company that started with CAD and other design drawing work, I was very interested in being able to bite designs at a university.
After joining the company, I was assigned a new business department, also called the Business Development Department. I am in charge of developing an application that runs on a device called "Microsoft HoloLens". Package software called "GyroEye Holo", a system that utilizes what is called mixed reality (MR). If you attach a device equipped with “GyroEye Holo” to your head, the drawing will be projected as a hologram at the actual size in front of you, even if you do not have to take the drawing at the construction site, for example. This has many advantages, including not only streamlining work on site but also enabling remote communication. My main job is to develop such innovative systems according to customer needs and to support them after delivery.

In fact, the device itself, Microsoft HoloLens, was developed for use in the art and design world. From there, we developed our own "GyroEye Holo" and created a system that can be used on civil engineering and construction sites using "Microsoft HoloLens". We created new value by combining our original CAD technology, our knowledge of what kind of work customers do on-site, and Microsoft devices.
This combination of technologies is often very useful in certain industries. It is an important task of the Business Development Department to turn such ideas into practical use. Therefore, there is an environment that allows us to challenge various things, even in our second year of joining the company. Especially during field trials, they are sometimes asked to "make a prototype of a product on the fly." Thanks to this, my skills in soldering and my knowledge of engineering that I have cultivated during my student days are useful.
I have just begun my career as an engineer, but I would like to study more and acquire various technologies, and in the future I will also work on developing packages and obtaining patents. If there is a chance in the future, I would like to create a new “something” that incorporates drones. Originally, there is a saying, “I like new things,” but AI has appeared in the world and society itself is changing. As a person in the IT industry, we want to look ahead and take on new challenges to realize a prosperous future.
